Infravermelho: O Registro do Invisível | The Record of the Invisible (2011)
"With the photographic camera, existences that could not be perceived by our optical instrument, the eye, become visible." Moholy Nagy
Project and research on infrared photography that started in 2011 and was the subject of my undergraduate thesis in photography. The purpose of this work is to discuss since its discovery, until the present day, through the Moholian visual dimensions. The intention of the project is also to discuss its entire process and the possibilities that we have with the infrared technique, in order to expand the look, making it possible to see beyond the established limits.
It is about considering the theme and its techniques, and through the final result of the work, seeking a reflection on how the observer receives it. The objective of the research is to present a new visual experience, an access to the invisible world, what the human eye cannot see, but which the camera is capable of capturing. Challenging, therefore, those who contemplate the work, to have contact with different visual perceptions, providing an expansion of sensitivity and look, noting that through the means of photography one can go beyond what is imagined.
